The Estonian Refugee Council (ERC) in Jordan is now accepting applications for livelihood grants through a closed call. This opportunity is open to all individuals who participated in the hydroponics training sessions, including both Trainers of Trainers (ToT) and basic-level trainees, and who wish to establish hydroponic start-ups or other income-generating activities. This grant opportunity represents the final phase of the ESTDEV-supported project, which focuses on promoting and supporting hydroponic agriculture solutions. It follows the successful completion of two comprehensive training phases that delivered both theoretical and practical instruction on key hydroponic techniques.

  • In the initial phase of the project, the Estonian Refugee Council partnered with local charitable organizations to maximize outreach and ensure broad participation in two hydroponics training programs:

    • Training of Trainers (ToT) module, and
    • An introductory training course aimed primarily at equipping women and girls with foundational skills in hydroponic agriculture.

These two phases have now been successfully completed. The training was delivered by two specialized instructors—one responsible for the theoretical sessions and the other for practical, hands-on implementation. As a result:

    • Ten women received in-depth ToT training in hydroponic farming.
    • These women then facilitated basic-level sessions for forty additional women and girls, selected in collaboration with local charitable organizations.
